6/16/20 - This is a rare Nazi Mauser P.38 from 1945, with all phosphate parts. It is "svw 45" marked on the slide, of which there were only 15,000 such pistols issued to the German Army. A much smaller portion of that lot has all phosphate parts. The original phosphate finish is difficult to rate, but we estimate that this example has retained about 95% of its original finish. The are a few splotches of discoloration on the right side of the slide (typical for this variation) and minor thinning of the front strap. Very little actual finish loss. All matching numbers. De-cocker works properly. Excellent bore - shiny with very strong rifling. The grips are very nice, but the left panel has noticeable scratches toward the top. Comes with a jvd magazine that appears to have been police arsenal-numbered.
