7/3/21 - This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these wer made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45's. This one was reworked after the war and issued to the East German police force. It is all matching, but the barrel has a "Crown N" proof. It has the proper "Eagle 135" Nazi military proofs and an East German "sunburst" proof on the left side of the trigger. The finish is dark and was likely refinished in East Germany. It has retained about 98% of this new finish with minor wear on the front edges of the slide and some handling marks on the underside of the barrel. Comes with excellent grips and a matching magazine that was re-numbered at the police arsenal. Minty bore. De-cocker is functional.
