1/8/18 - This is a super scarce, near-mint example of a rarely encountered First Issue HI-Standard Olympic pistol chambered in .22 short, in its original matching box. The gun retains 98+% of its original high gloss blue with just a hint of muzzle wear. It has a mint bore and excellent original grips and comes with a spare magazine and a manual. The Olympic pistol was chambered in .22 short and was made specifically for the Olympic Rapid Fire events in the late 1940s. This was a flagship pistol of the Hi-Standard line of target guns and has a distinction of being the only US made target pistol to win an Olympic event, despite having to compete against the best European guns such as Olympia and Hammerli. Only about 1500 of the First variation guns were made and had a distinctive curved magazine and an aluminum slide that was anodized. This is the only complete example that we have seen in the past 20 years that has a matching serial box. Arguably, the most collectible Hi-Standard in outstanding condition.
