11/24/17 - This is a rare Mauser-made P.38, with police eagle/f marking on the right side of the slide. Only 1,500 of these pistols were produced! According to Jan Still, they fall between 4346-5501, and this one is 5359, making it one of the last of these produced! It has an excellent dual-tone finish, with phosphate frame and slide, as well as phosphate small parts, but a blued barrel. I'd call it a 98% gun with minor slide wear. Excellent reddish grips and late-war magazine. Minty bore.
