5/26/21 - This is an excellent example of a rare 1939 Mauser Luger rig. It was initially issued to the Nazi military in 1939 and then diverted to the police, as evidenced by the added police sear safety. The gun is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 63" military proofs. The Mauser factory code is "S/42". This is a rare gun, as it is estimated only about 600 of this variation were diverted to the police. It comes with two original matching magazines and a minty 1939-dated holster. The gun has retained about 96-97% of its original bluing. There are areas of minor wear on the side plate, front edges of the side rail, and around the muzzle. A few dots of spotty discoloration on the barrel and back strap. Excellent matching grips. Mint bore.
