3/5/18 - This is a rarely seen, very early Mod HP with high-polish finish. I looked the serial up in Buxtons book and it cites only a few known in this serial range. They were made in the fall of 1940 and also in the similar range that they made a few .30 caliber guns and dural frame guns. This pistol has about 95+% of its original high polish finish on it. The bore is excellent - shiny, mirror-like. The numbers are all matching including on the inside of the slide, on the frame , barrel and locking block. Each part also has a crisp Eagle/N commercial proof including on the barrel and locking block. Mechanically excellent with the de-cocking feature intact. It has correct commercial, early grips.
