SOLD - Rare Colt M1911A1 - 1939 Naval Contract

11/1/17 - This is a very rare and highly desirable Colt M1911A1 that was manufactured in 1939 as part of a Naval contract order.  There were only ~3,600 Colt 1911A1's produced in 1939 and all were issued to the Navy as part of this order.  This one is all original, correct and matching, with about 85% brushed blue finish remaining.  There is notable thinning on the front strap, and multiple spots of finish loss on the slide that look to have been caused by saltwater.  Slide is numbered and matching to the frame.Colt barrel with 'G' proof under the lug.  'S' marked magazine.  Excellent bore.
