5/11/18 - This is one of the first Luftwaffe contract Walther PP pistols from 1940. These are distinct in that they are in 9mm, a rare caliber, and they are waffen proofed on the slide and frame. There were only about 1,800 of this variation ordered, versus about 100,000 waffen proofed guns in 7.65, and few 9mm's are observed any more. They were issued with two numbered magazines - numbered on the bottom. This one comes with a near match original magazine #199108. The original finish covers about 90-92% of the gun with most of the wear found on the grip straps. It still has that 1940 high polish finish as they transitioned to a duller finish in mid-1941. The gun has matching frame and slide with eagle/N proofs on the slide, barrel and ejection port. Mechanically it is in good condition and has an excellent, shiny bore.
