5/24/17 - This is a rare and complete rig for a GNR-marked (Guarda Nacional Republicana) 1935/06 Mauser Banner luger, made under contract for the Portuguese in 1935.  This rig includes a cleaning rod, holster, loading tool and punch.  These lugers were largely unheard of in the collector market for a long time, as only 564 were produced!  The original finish rates at about 94-95%, with the largest spots of wear on the side plate and bottom of the front grip strap.  There is also visible patina on the trigger guard and on top of the chamber.  This is a commercial Banner marked with the Crown U (Oberndorf proof) and the thumb safety marked "SEGURANCA" note 'safe up' from the old style, and the extractor is marked "CARREGADA".  This is a well documented series of exactly 564 guns from 1921v through 2484v. This model has the 1906 old style frame with grip safety, no stock lug and fast taper barrel. These were made specifically for the Portuguese "Republican National Guard" consequently the top of the chamber area is marked "GNR" for Guarde, Nationale Republicanie. The holster bears a faint "AE" proof mark of the Portuguese Military, as well as a unit mark.  The brass cleaning rod comes with an oiler for grease application to the moving parts.  The holster also includes the early pin punch that is usually found in the 1906 presentation cases.  The grips are numbered and matching to the pistol. Bore is frosted throughout but not pitted, and has clearly visible grooves.  I'd rate it a 6 or 7.
