12/3/20 - This is a very interesting and potentially rare Nazi K98 in grenade launcher configuration, the first of its kind that we've encountered or offered. The base rifle was made in 1943 at the Gustloff-Werke factory and all numbers match with clear Heer Army waffenamt on stock. But as you'll see, the rifle has been modified with original grenade launcher and bi-pod built directly into the barrel. The bi-pod is 1939 dated with maker mark and waffenamt. The barrel and launcher have that black enamel paint finish, similar to the S.A.C.M. 1935A. The finish on the original metal parts was redone at some point, too. Stock is in excellent condition. The bore is pitting and frosted throughout, perhaps facing extra corrosive material when used for launching. Overall a super cool and unique piece.
