This is a very interesting and rare Walther PP in .22 caliber. It is inscribed on the slide "Gebiet Thuringen 17", which roughly translates to Area or District 17, Thuringen. We believe the inscription to be 100% authentic but this is the first such inscription we've seen. The seller stated that it came from a Hitler Youth leader. They of course would have used 22 rifles and pistols for training boys on shooting. We have not been able to confirm this theory , but others have agreed that this is a feasible explanation. The bluing is original and rates at about 90%, with high edge wear on the slide, and some thinning on the straps. There is also oxidation visible on the bluing surfaces. Minty bore and nice grips. Comes with an original finger extension magazine.
