10/18/21 - This is one of the rarest K98 variations in near-mint condition - the long rail sniper. This beautiful rifle is all matching and original, with a minty phosphated finish and long side rail scope mount. This rifle was manufactured by Gustloff Werke (bcd) in 1944. LSR sniper rifles had a thicker left receiver wall milled at the factory to accommodate a long side rail scope base, which was attached with pins and screws. In addition, they had a checkered buttplate, a special modified sniper safety lever and a stock, specifically inletted for the scope base on the left side of the receiver. This rifle has all of the above characteristics and all the proper proof marks/waffentamts on the gun. The scope is marked 'K.Kahles Wien' over 'H/4x60' and has strong, clear optics. The stock is in excellent condition with no cracks or notable chips. It is 'H' marked with a waffenamt on the right side stock. Includes cleaning rod and sight hood. Excellent bore.
