6/3/21 - This is a rare Ruger Hawkeye, one of only ~3,000 ever produced. It's a single shot pistol chambered for the .256 Winchester Magnum cartridge, and was only manufactured from 1963-64. It was built on the same frame as the Ruger Blackhawk, but rather than having a rotating cylinder like a standard revolver, it featured a swiveling breechblock which allowed an individual round to be loaded and sealed into the frame. This particular example is in excellent condition with a minor area of finish loss around the muzzle, and another on the bottom of the grip frame. Terrific bore and smooth functionality. Barrel is 8.5 inches long. C&R eligible.
