2/23/21 - This is a rare and complete Police Mauser Luger rig from 1939. It has one of the original matching magazines, a mismatched Police magazine in the same block, a 1937 police holster and a police marked tool. The tool, holster and magazine are numbered and matching to the pistol! There were only about 2,850 produced with Eagle/C marking on receiver like this one, and only 1,400 of those in 1939. This one is especially rare as the receiver is also Simson marked, as some Police Mauser Lugers in 1939 and 1940 were built using leftover Simson parts. An example only 3 digits off is pictured and described in Still's Axis Pistols. The pistol itself is all matching and original with about 92% of the blue remaining. Most of the finish loss is on the straps, with some more bluing loss on the sideplate. It has one of the matching magazines, and the grips are unmarked. Holster is in terrific condition and has Robert Larsen maker mark. Also included is a personal account from a veteran of the 2nd armored division who supposedly brought this gun back, though it can't be proven so now value is being added.
