8/2/21 - This is a Mauser M1934 that was made in the 1930s, and appears to be a rare Chinese contract. If anyone is familiar with this particular variation, feel free to email us, but the following is our best guess from research. The pistol falls into a serial range of similar contract pistols that went to China, many of which going to Shanghai police/security. This pistol does not have identical markings to the Shanghai examples but it does appear to have an arsenal number. So it may not be Shanghai police contract specifically, but could have ended up with Chinese military or officer in the 1930s-40s. It has nice, original bluing throughout with minor wear on trigger guard and front strap, and a little more on high edges of slide. There are also a couple small areas of pitting. Strong, shiny bore. Excellent grip with no cracks.
