6/18/20 - This is a Walther Olympia Jaeger Pistol made in the late 1930's. This pistol was manufactured in the late 1930's during the Nazi era. The original design was actually developed for use by the German Olympic team who used it during the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Germany won both the Gold & Silver medals in the 25 meter Rapid Fire Pistol matches during those games. The Olympia is a single-action, blow-back pistol with an internal hammer and push-button magazine release. This is the short-barreled "Hunter" version of the Olympia pistol, introduced in 1937 to comply with new German firearms regulations which stipulated what type of firearm a hunter was allowed to carry in the woods. It is chambered for the .22 Long Rifle and has a 4-5/8" barrel. The rear sight is adjustable for windage. This example has retained about 95% of its original bluing. There are a few light scratches along the length of the barrel, but most of the wear is on the right side of the barrel. There are some small spots of oxidation on the back of the slide, near the tang. The original grips are excellent. The gun is all matching. It has "Crown N" proofs. It was made in the Zella-Mehlis factory. The wood bottom mag matches the gun. The bore is minty.
