6/3/21 - This is an excellent example of a Mauser P.38 that was put together from parts after WW2 and issued to the French security services. They were then imported to the US by Interarms. This one comes with an original matching Interarms box and owners manual. The gun is all matching, has Waffen proof on some of the internal parts, and a French star on the right side of the slide. No import mark. It has a rare FN slide and an all-phosphate finish. The nature of this finish is difficult to rate, but our best guess is about 90-95% retention. There is minor thinning on the front strap and barrel. Areas of spotty oxidation throughout. Comes with nice post-war French grips. The lanyard loop is missing. Comes with a rare WW-era "U" makred waffen-proofed magazine. Mint bore. De-cocker is functional.
