1/20/20 - This is a rarely seen Colt Model 1911 made in 1912, the very first year of production. This pistol has its original finish that rates about 90%. From our understanding, this particular bluing can never be replicated. The hammer, slide lock, take down lever, and trigger all have a beautiful, early, "peacock blue" finish. The slide has the early Colt logo, the Colt Rampart inside of circle. It has an early "half moon" style rear sight. The gun has the correct early barrel with a "C" on the barrel lug. It comes with early grips and an early "keyhole" Colt magazine. The bore is fairly shiny with a bit of frosting in the grooves - still plenty of rifling. The gun comes with a Colt factory letter which states that the gun was mailed on Sept. 4, 1912.
