5/4/17 - This P.38 is a bit of an oddball, but also a known variation discussed by Buxton and others. A group of byf 44's were put together in 1945, and this must have been one of the last ones as it only has two firing proofs. This only occurred in April of 1945, the last month of production. The slide and barrel have no serial number. The frame, slide, barrel and locking block are all WaA135 proofed. Excellent reddish grips, and a late-war 'U' marked magazine (E/359). Minty bore.
