2/10/21 - This is a very nice example of a Steyr K98 rifle issued to the Nazi military in 1943. The whole gun is waffen proofed and the desirable "bnz" factory code. All numbered parts are matching. The barrel bands and butt plate are un-numbered. The barrel bands may have been replaced. Comes with an original cleaning rod. Most of the finish is in tact, but there is minor thinning and patina on the barrel bands and sides of the receiver. The stock is excellent but looks to have been lightly sanded. It appears there was a name carved into the left side of the butt stock that was sanded down. There are no visible waffen proofs or numbers on the stock. The bore is near-mint.
