1/16/20 - This is an all matching Nazi Mauser K98 that is marked 'ar 43' on the receiver, denoting it was made in 1943 at the Mauser factory in Berlin-Borsigwalde. The metal parts are all matching numbers throughout the rifle, with the majority of the finish loss found on the bands and near the muzzle. The stock is unnumbered with Heer Army proof on right side, and a thin surface crack on the left/underside. The stock also appears to have been originally designed for a sniper scope mount, but the cutout was later filled in. Have not seen this before so don't know the full story there, but will include a couple of closeup photos. Rifle bore is excellent.
