12/29/17 - This is a near new in the box Remington Rand 1911A1. The parkerized finish is 99% and original, with minor muzzle wear. The serial dates this one to the very end of '43 or beginning of '44. There are some blued small parts and pins, which is correct for that date. Correct WW2 grips and magazine, which is L marked. Chambered in .45 caliber with excellent bore. Strong rifling with only minor cloudiness. All parts are original and function well. No rework marks. FJA inspector proofs and P proof on slide and frame. Crossed cannon cartouche on the right back frame. Barrel is proper and original HS marked. Comes in a post war Kraft box, which is numbered to the gun. If you want just one example of a World War II Remington Rand 1911, this one would be tough to improve upon.
