4/26/17 - This is a near-mint Remington model 1911, manufactured in 1943 for army use during WW2. The original finish rates at about 99%, with some very minor spots of wear on the front strap and near the muzzle. It is all correct and original, with proper inspection mark on frame, P proofs on frame and slide, and crossed cannons cartouche on the right side of the frame. Hard to find G proofed magazine (General Shaver division of Remington). These magazines are rare due to the weld in the spine. Less of these magazines were made and in circulation because the military believed the weld marking made the magazines weaker. These magazines are usually paired with Remingtons. The barrel is marked S and P. Excellent and correct grips. Minty bore.
