1/29/19 - This is an excellent and very hard to find Walther P.38, with '40' added under the ac proof on left side slide. There were only 5,700 of this variation produced, made in November of 1940 with the '40' added after the gun was blued. This pistol is in the proper range for this variation, and is all matching (including the grips) and original. The magazine is numbered and proper for the gun (two E/359 proofs) but not matching. The original high-polish blue rates at about 98-99% with only minor edge wear. There are, however, a few small dings in the trigger guard and front strap. Still, this is probably one of the nicest such examples in existence. Proper mechanics, including functioning decocker. Bore is shiny with strong rifling.
