11/13/17 - This is a very scarce variation of WWI German Imperial contract Broomhandle pistol. Most of the so called "war time commercial" pistols were within the same serial number range as the rest of the commercial C96 pistols, but carried a German Army acceptance mark on the right chamber. However, there was a very small number of guns that were in their own serial range, similar to the "Red 9" broomhandles. It is unclear why certain guns were assigned a separate serial range, but only a few are known to exist and this is one of these guns. It is all matching, including the shoulder stock. It is in superb 99% original condition, with just a slightest wear under the barrel from sliding in and out of the shoulder stock. The stock is in nice condition, with a tiny but stable hairline crack that has no wood movement around it. The leather harness is in great shape and is original and marked "Germany" on the closure strap.
