7/19/19 - This is a near-mint Springfield Armory M1 Garand that was purchased from the CMP as a 'correct grade' example. The metal surfaces show little to no wear, with just minor patination on that trigger housing. The stock is in similar condition, with circle P on wrist and CMP cartouche on left side. The bore is mint, as these rifle has hardly been used. Muzzle rates at a .8 or .9, and throat is a 2. Serial dates this one to about 1956, and barrel is dated to March of 1955. Would be tough to find an example in better condition, and this one would make an excellent range warrior.
