5/6/18 - This is a mint condition Springfield Armory CMP Garand from 1955. It is certified as correct grade by the CMP, meaning it is in the exact configuration and condition as it left the factory over 60 years ago. Many on the Garand message boards argue that they are only correct crade when they leave the CMP because they can be fired or have parts swapped, and thus the consignor has left the original grease in place to show that this rifle was never fired once in the time since it left the factory. The consignor is the original buyer of this rifle, and his name is on the original COA and receipts. This mint rifle includes all the paperwork, the bayonet, cleaning kit, buttstock cleaning kit, Korean war sling, muzzle covers, 3 en bloc clips and the CMP hard cases. Barrel is dated to January of 1955.
