6/2/20 - This is a rare and unusual variation of Walther Mod HP that has been documented as several have been found in the same late-war serial range. There are several explanations for this variation including "GI put together" and factory error. However, we don't believe these are GI guns as they are found with all matching serial numbers and historically the GI's just threw available parts together. The gun is most likely from 1944. It is a commercial Mod HP in excellent condition. It has eagle/N proof marks and all parts match including the slide, frame, barrel and locking block. Most notable is the fact that the barrel matches and was not renumbered. We believe this would have to be a factory error as a 9mm bullet will not feed into the gun. Again, there are other "error" guns known to exist in the same serial range. The original bluing rates at about 99+% with only a very minor ding on the rear sight. Bore is mint. Minty reddish Walther grips.
