2/9/21 - This is a mint example of an interesting and rare 1938 Mauser Luger. This gun has commercial "Crown N" proofs, no military proofs on the right side, yet it has an "S/42" Mauser military code on the toggle. This would indicate this gun was originally manufactured to be issued to the army but was instead diverted as a private purchase. This was very uncommon and was likely done for a Nazi officer, making this gun very rare. It is all matching and has retained about 99% of its bluing. There is just a hint of wear around the muzzle. There are areas of very light pin-pricking on the barrel and side plate. It comes with excellent unmarked grips and mismatched period-correct magazine. The rifling in the bore is strong but there is minor pitting throughout.
