2/24/21 - This is one of the finest examples we've encountered of an original Colt 1911A1 from 1943. It has just a minuscule surface scuff on the left side of the slide, but looks virtually unused otherwise. Matching numbered slide and frame. Minty Colt barrel with proper large 'G' proof. Correct P proofs on slide and frame, and G.H.D inspectors mark. Terrific grips, the only minor knock on this one is the magazine is postwar. Clawson states '43 production began with serial 856,101, so this would be one of the first thousand or so produced that year.
