SOLD - MG3 Semi Auto - Rare & Custom

9/18/17 - One of a kind, hand-built modernized semi automatic MG3. This MG3 will stop any busy range on a crowded day. This rifle is constructed from an original de milled German army MG3 kit. It is a hand built and assembled, one of a kind prototype rifle. It is highly custom in every regard, and is the only rifle to exist in this specific configuration. The barrel and shroud have been shortened to 16 inches, and the sight and optics system have been upgraded to modern standards. The vast space of rails offered on the top and bottom and side of the shroud, in additon to the top cover ensure room to mount any optical configuration available. The receiver and rails are custom milled in the USA. The barrel is USA made and 100 percent custom. The charging handle has been improved for ease of operation and durability. A carry handle has been added. The original German army MG3 parts used include the repaired demilled shroud, barrel gate, barrel bushing, top cover, feed tray, flash suppressor, flash suppressor lock, charging handle (modified), recuperator (modified), rear locking cams, stock, drum magazine and links, original barrel carrier and ammunition box. The barrel is a custom in house turned Green Mountain Barrel Co blank in .308w, cut to 16 inches and permanently affixed to an original MG3 trunnion. The blank was a 1:12 twist 4 right hand grooved chrome moly steel. After turning the barrel was stress relieved and duracoated with high heat barrel paint. The OAL barrel length and shroud are 6.6 inches shorter than the original MG3 design. Troy folding steel tritium day night iron sights are included. Please note slight cosmetic wear on rifle from transport and multiple test firings. The rifle is finished in Duracoat camoflauge series, specifically East German Camo.
