3/1/18 - This is an all original Mauser C96, also known as a Red 9. The finish rates at about 98+%, with almost no visible wear, but there is patina throughout. Grips are matching to the gun, and have the number 9 cut into them, and filled with red paint. This was done to distinguish between the M1896/16 and the M1896/12. It also denotes that the pistol was chambered in 9mm. Because the added red 9 was accomplished by various regimental armorers in the field during war time, it varies in size, color and quality. Minty bore.
