9/1/17 - This is a rarely encountered Pre-WWII Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" that was pressed into Police service during the Weimar era, at which point a 1920 property marking was added on the right of the chamber. What makes it an even more unusual variant is the Police unit marking on the front grip strap, P. L. 3. 42. This signifies issuance to the Polizie of Lubeck in Prussia. The gun retains about 90% of the original blue with most of the wear on the sharp edges and some thinning of the blue on the barrel. The gun is all matching, including all the appropriate internals, bolt stop, floor plate, locking block and the grip panels, and has a great bore. Some fire blue is still present on the extractor, rear sight cursor, safety lever and the bolt stop. Very nice Weimar Police gun with uncommon unit marking.
