11/29/17 - This is a bit of an oddball Mauser luger from World War II. It seems largely correct and all original, which matching small parts and grips. The finish is original and rates somewhere in the 80's, as the straps show some discoloration where a solvent of some kind may have taken away some finish. There is surface pinpricking on the barrel and sideplate. But on the front strap, there appears to be a police unit marking. World War II police lugers were not marked this way, but I'm also not sure why someone would attempt to fake this proof. There is also a crude set of SS runes scratched into the back strap, but this would appear to be a GI embellishment to me, rather than a past collector trying to raise the value of the gun. The grips are numbered to the gun, and the magazine is period correct (fxo) but numbered to a different pistol. Shiny, strong bore.
