SOLD - Luftwaffe Walther PP - WaA359
11/29/17 - This is an early waffen proofed PP made in 1941/42 with the early high polish finish. The slide and frame are both numbered indicating it was most likely a Luftwaffe contract gun. Also, the Luftwaffe PP's are the only ones that came with numbered magazines (found on the bottom of the magazine). This gun HAS such a numbered magazine but it is off by about 250 numbers. The finish and parts are all original and the grips are correct to the gun. Finish rates in the low 90's with holster wear on both sides of the slide. The gun comes with a waffen 100 proofed holster, which is rare and desirable. Inside the flap is the name of the Steglitz and a number. This could be the officer who carried the rig in WW2 or the area where he was stationed as Steglitz is an area just outside of Berlin. My search seems to indicate there was a small Luftwaffe base in the Steglitz area. Regardless of the meaning, the PP and PPk's were favored among the pilots and officers. A little bit of research could produce interesting results.
