9/21/18 - This is a very nice example of a scarce Luftwaffe issued Mauser K98 from 1944. The stock is waffen marked with 'L' proof rather than the more common 'H' that denotes army issue. The rifle is all matching, though the bolt assembly appears to have been re-numbered. The original finish on the receiver and barrel is excellent with minor thinning, but the butt plate is thin throughout so it was likely stored standing up for a long time. Excellent stock with no major flaws. Comes with original sight hood and cleaning rod. Bore is shiny with strong rifling but minor frost throughout.
