5/9/18 - This is a Type 14 Nambu made in the last days of WWII. It was probably pressed into service as the bombs were hitting Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It has no serial number, no date code and is “in the white” - it was never blued, and the magazine retainer spring and lanyard loop were never installed. It comes with an equally interesting holster, apparently cobbled up from holster parts available at that time. Very few of these late war guns are known to collectors and are extremely scarce. Bore is minty, likely supporting the idea that this one was too late to reach service and see much use.
