SOLD - 1944 K98 Rifle Strap / Sling
7/25/19 - This is an original leather strap for a K98 rifle manufactured late in WWII. Maker stamped "cgu" and "4" on the rear of the keeper stud. Ink stamped "kar" on the rear of the sling. This is short for "Karabinerriemen", and presumably put on to differentiate it from the "MP38 u. 40" sling which was slightly different. The leather is excellent and completely in tact with no notable flaws. The interesting feature of this sling is the surface is not the typical herringbone pattern, but sort of a elongated pebble grain. The buckle is maker stamped "L&F". The stitching is all original as well without issues. Guaranteed original.
