7/11/19 - This is an original leather strap for a K98 rifle manufactured just prior to the start of WWII. The strap or buckle is not marked, but these very early slings were produced by Otto Koberstein. The serrated locking pin on the buckle are some of the earlisest designs, which began in 1935. By 1938, they were using the smooth sided locking pins. The leather is soft with some wrinkling, but completely in tact. Some of the original herringbone texture is still visible on the exterior, but the brown leather dye is worn off in some areas. The stitching is all original as well without issues. Guaranteed original.
