6/30/21 - This is an excellent example of an Arisaka Type 99 rifle issued to the Japanese military during WW2. It is mostly matching, but has a mismatched cocking knob and firing pin. It does have a fully intact mum stamp on the receiver. It has retained most of its original finish. There is minor wear around the muzzle, some pitting on the barrel, handling marks on the front barrel band, and pin-pricking and spotty oxidation at the rear of the receiver. The stock has dings, dents, and scratches throughout. Crack in the handguard. The bore is shiny, but the rifling is slightly worn with areas of spotty freckling.
