8/28/20 - This is an original Japanese Arisaka Type 99 Rifle, made at the Toyo Kogyo Arsenal during WW2. The mum is partially visible but has been peened in the center. The bolt and receiver are mismatched. The gun is fully functional. It has a rear peep sight. The nature of the rough military finish on these guns makes it hard to rate, but it looks like it has retained most of its finish. There are areas of what could be thinning here and there. The stock appears to be original but has been sanded and refinished. The fore grip is loose and wiggles around a little bit. The bore has decent rifling but is rusted and pitted throughout. Might get better with a thorough cleaning.
