4/7/21 - This is a nice example of a Beretta Model 1915/17 issued to the Italian Army during WW1. Its predecessor is the Model 1915. They made a few changes to the original Model 1915 to make the 1915/17. These changes included chambering the gun in 7.65mm to reduce the bulk of the 9mm, and they removed the hammer safety on the tang. They produced about 15,000 of the 9mm version then picked up with 7.65mm production until about SN 60,000. This one comes with a blue-ish holster and a proper magazine. The gun is matching and has retained about 85% of its finish. There is spotty wear on the straps, underside of the frame and on the slide throughout. There is spotty brown patina throughout. There are some areas of the slide that may have been touched up with cold blue. Comes with relatively worn wood grips. The bore has heavy oxidation and pitting throughout.
