6/22/21 - This is an ultra rare and original Colt 1911 pistol with 'N.R.A.' marked frame. Beginning in1915, a number of Model 1911 pistols were made available to N.R.A. members and affiliates. They are easily identified by the "N.R.A." marking on the right side of the receiver directly under the serial number. All of the Colt pistols were from 1915, 1916 and 1917 production. The pistols fall within the serial number range of 122279 to 164124 and it's estimated that only about 50 of the Colt Model 1911 pistols were marked N.R.A. and released. This pistol was manufactured in 1917 and falls within the serial number range. It is GHS inspector marked for Lt. Col. Gilbert H. Stewart. Small 'H' stamped on rear of slide, and disconnected 'P H' marking on barrel is correct for this serial number. It's a gorgeous pistol with only minor high edge wear and a minty bore. Beautiful wood grips with sharp checkering. Two-tone magazine.
