4/19/19 - This is an original WW2 era production M1 Carbine rifle made by I.B.M. The rifle was late war production, and is in all original configuration despite being stamped on the underside of the stock, "RA" for Ratan Arsenal. Our theory (and other collectors agree) is that this rifle was sent to Ratan after WWII (as many rifles were) where it was "RA" stamped and then set aside and never touched or worked on. This would explain the lack of bayonet lug (or ever having one) and overall condition / configuration of this rifle. The metal is parkerized except on the bolt where it is blued. There is some freckling or spots of discoloration on the metal, but no rust or pitting. Excellent, minty bore is shiny and clean. The wood is excellent as well with a strong, original military cartouche. Comes with two magazines, WW2 original strap, and canvas magazine pouch (2 total magazines included - both ww2). Great, fairly priced collector rifle.
