10/7/20 - This is an excellent M1 Garand made by Harrington and Richardson in 1953. The barrel was made by Springfield Armory in 1943. The op rod is marked "NM" for National Match. From the original inspection tag included on the gun, we believe this gun was refurbished by the USMC. The tag is hand-numbered to the gun on the back. Looks like it may have been written in modern pen. The gun has retained most of its finish, but there are areas of wear on the barrel and gas cylinder. There is spotty oxidation visible under the finish throughout. The stock is excellent, just some handling marks, small chips, and bruising here and there. There are three scratches and an "A" marking on the grip. The gun is fully functional. The bore is shiny and minty.
