3/23/18 - This is a beautifully engraved Colt Model 1851 revolver, chambered in 36 caliber - percussion. It was manufactured in 1866 with 7 3/8 inch octagonal barrel. The finish is silver with a gold wash over the silver plating. Most of the gold wash is worn away. It has Walnut grips and all matching numbers on this gun. The engraving is a floral scroll and shell pattern style. While I am not an expert on engraved Colts I have shown this to those who are. The overall consensus is that the gun is period engraved in a very professional manner but likely not factory engraved. The mechanics and timing on the cylinder appear very good. A beautiful presentation piece, that requires no FFL as this is an antique.
