6/21/17 - This is an original, early WW2 double decal German military helmet. The helmet has early WW1 "lugs" on each side of the helmet. These lugs were used to attach a face-sheild for military troops in the first World War. However, soldiers didn't like the weight and clunky feel of these metal face masks, so they quickly got rid of that and new helmets were lacking these lug nuts. This helmet was later reissued after WW1 for use during WW2. The helmet has a decal on either side, which is another early feature. The paint is also an early "apple green" color which is a lighter shade of green than later helmets. The top of this helmet is stamped "382". The paint has some normal wear and spotty discoloration, but this is "good" wear that helps prove the authenticity of the paint and metal. The decals are original paint as well with minimal chipping or paint loss. The interior lining is worn, but completely in tact and original.
