8/2/17 - This is a rare variation Kriegsmarine dagger from WW2. Notice the dagger has a black handle, whereas most Kriegsmarine daggers are white handles. These black handled daggers were given to the family of a deceased naval officer. The dagger has an engraved/etched blade as well making it a high quality collector's piece. Additionally, the scabbard has late war golfball dimples. This is a late WW2 variant that is seldom seen on scabbards. The scabbard is in great shape with only one small dent on one side. The blade is in great shape with some normal patina throughout, which is darkening of the original finish. The engraving is somewhat faded and light, but still visible. The blade has an original WKC maker stamp. The handle is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. Included is a portepee, that is all original although worth fairly throughout the string with some fraying. Guaranteed all original.
