10/8/20 - This is an excellent example of a Remington Model 03-A3 bolt action rifle, issued to the US Military in June of 1943. The date of receiver and date stamped on the barrel match. There is a "US Flaming Bomb" proof on the front sight hood and a "P" proof on the underside of the barrel. The metal parts have most of their finish and the receiver is minty. There are some light handling marks toward the muzzle end. The stock is excellent and marked "RA", "FJA" and has a cross-canon cartouche. Adjacent to those markings is a marking with numbers and letters in a box. This could be evidence of an arsenal rework. There is a "52 in box" marking on the underside of the stock and a "P" proof on the wrist. It looks like the stock was lightly sanded. The bore is pretty shiny with good rifling, just some minor pitting throughout. We've included a spare barrel - July of 1943-dated and has a mint bore.
