2/16/24 - This is an excellent and original Steyr produced K98 Kriegsmodell, marked with large letter 'bnz 44' on the receiver. It has typical late-war features for a Kriegsmodell such as no cleaning rod slot, no bayonet lug and no disassembly disc. Only numbered parts are the receiver and the bolt handle, which match. It's common for these late examples to have many unnumbered parts. The metal is in good shape with about 90% blue remaining, as there's minor thinning on all major surfaces. Stock is in fantastic condition with H proof for Heer Army and waffenamt. Correct 'byf' floorplate and 'lxr' marked magazine follower. Minty bore and excellent, original sling. The buttplate isn't a perfect fit but this also can be commonly observed on these rifles.
